Tour Start Victoria Falls
Tour Finish Johannesburg

Your first stop is one of the “Wonders of the World” – the Victoria Falls. These awe inspiring Falls are bordered between Zambia and Zimbabwe and you’ll  have cold shivers with its immense power and raw energy as millions of cubic meters of water plummet over the edge of the Basalt cliffs. A day trip into Chobe is on the cards, giving you the opportunity to see this unique part of the world for yourself. Moving further into Zambia you will get the opportunity to visit many of its Game Parks. The Kafue, the second largest Park in Africa offers average 4x4 driving but great sightings of herds of red lechwe, the stately sable and roan antelope. The South Luangwa Park is dubbed as one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world – and not without reason. A quick stop in Lusaka to replenish supplies before heading into Malawi with its own natural attractions.

The Kasungu National Park in Malawi is relatively easy to drive around but offers spectacular game and bird viewing. On to Lilongwe - the capital city of Malawi. Re-supply, but the essentials and overnight in a luxury hotel to wash the dust off after the previous few days of rough driving and sleeping in tents. A spectacular drive out of Lilongwe down the escarpment takes the tour towards the "Lake of Stars" - a spectacular lake at the southern end of the Great Rift Valley.

Moving onwards we head to Monkey Bay. Here we take out the fishing rods and enjoy the easy life. There are a few interesting day trips which we will offer for those who are looking for some adrenalin. The world’s first freshwater National Park is situated at Cape MaClear, and offers great opportunity to snorkelers whilst the bird lovers will have the photographic opportunities of fish eagles, cormorants and hamerkops. Possibly the best bird watching will be had at Liwonde National Park, where the river attracts varied birdlife – and even the Pel’s fishing owl is often seen. The landscape is rugged and offers some stretches of good 4X4 driving. On our way to Mozambique we stop off at Mwabvi Wildlife Reserve which is only accessible by 4X4 and you will need all skills you have!

Gorongosa National Park - MozambiqueHeading into Mozambique we take on the challenge of the Gorongoza National Park. With its 1.2 million hectares of open plains, bush, swamp and waterways you will be faced with all the driving challenges that you could want. The vegetation and birdlife make up for the scarce game. Gorongoza is undergoing a period of transformation and has many projects underway to re-instate it to its former glory.

Beach accommodation - Mozambique

For those who have had enough of game watching, we head down the pristine coastline from Vilanculos to Inhambane and Bilene. The opportunity to visit the Bazaruto Islands, the local markets, go fishing / snorkelling  / scuba diving, meet with the local people, each seafood fresh from the Indian ocean and over indulge in the “good life”, awaits you. After several days of sun and beach we peel off to the new Transfrontier Limpopo Park. The dirt roads to Massingir Dam will take you off the beaten track and into the new Park.  We spend the next day making our way back into South Africa and into the Kruger National Park, where we will overnight in Letaba. Enjoying a last evening together and sharing the stories of our adventures you will look back on the most spectacular trip you ever could have had.
