Description Magnificent Namibia, from the lush vegetation of the Caprivi Strip to the desert lands of the Sosussevlei – and everything in between! This tour has extended driving periods, mostly bad road or on compacted dirt. The tour is suitable for soft roaders, and where there may be challenges the 4X4's are positioned to pull you through. The highlights of this tour include Victoria Falls, bird sightings in the Caprivi to unspoilt Game Reserves and National Parks. Making way further southwards we enter into the Brandberg and Spitzkoppe regions where vast open landscapes are dotted with mountain ranges hiding some national treasures – from Burnt Mountain, the White Lady and the Petrified Forest. Along the coast you will be privy to the German History and architectural influences of this country. Next awaits you the vast desert lands of the Namib-Naukluft Park; red sands, rolling dunes, stark horizons and of course the ancient Welwitchia plants. This is contrasted by the Fish River Canyon in the South, it is Africa’s largest canyon with its 500 meter drop, 160 km length and 27 km span. The hot springs provide welcome relief from the long day of driving. Heading back into South Africa we concluded this tour with a brief stay in the Kalahari to view the black-maned lion and the rugged terrain of the Augrabies Falls. |
