Your tour starts in Lilongwe - the capital city of Malawi. A spectacular drive over the escarpment takes you to Monkey Bay. Relax time - on the beach, go fishing, snorkelling, take a walk through the local village. Here we take out the fishing rods and enjoy the easy life. There are a few interesting day trips which we will offer for those who are looking for some adrenalin. The world’s first freshwater National Park is situated at Cape MaClear, and offers great opportunity to snorkelers whilst the bird lovers will have the photographic opportunities of fish eagles, cormorants and hamerkops. From Monkey Bay we move on to Liwonde - a beautiful park situated on the Shire River. Game viewing, sunset cruises, barbecues. Possibly the best bird watching will be had at here, where the river attracts varied birdlife – and even the Pel’s fishing owl is often seen. A short drive to the Zomba Plateau. Mountain scenery and a fantastic place for walking. Then it is on to Blantyre, the commercial centre of Malawi. A one-night stop to re-supply. The next day a border crossing into Mozambique and then back roads to the Zambezi River. We overnight at a small lodge overlooking the river. Heading into Mozambique we take on the challenge of the Gorongoza National Park. With its 1.2 million hectares of open plains, bush, swamp and waterways, Gorongosa is truly a small piece of forgotten paradise. Gorongoza is undergoing a period of transformation and has many projects underway to re-instate it to its former glory. |

| For those who have had enough of game watching, we head down the pristine coastline from Vilanculos to Inhambane and Bilene. The opportunity to visit the Bazaruto Islands, the local markets, go fishing / snorkelling / scuba diving, meet with the local people, each seafood fresh from the Indian ocean and over indulge in the “good life”, awaits you. After several days of sun and beach we peel off to the new Transfrontier Limpopo Park. The dirt roads to Massingir Dam will take you off the beaten track and into the new Park. We spend the next day making our way back into South Africa and into the Kruger National Park, where we will overnight for two nights in Letaba. Enjoying a last evening together and sharing the stories of our adventures you will look back on the most spectacular trip you ever could have had. |
